First Friday Art Exhibition Featuring Janice King – Finist and the Owl Bookstore

This exhibition represents women of past, present and future. Women have been the pillars of communities since the beginning of time. Our Dynamics are many. We love and care for ourselves, partners, children, and others. Yes, it is not always easy, we have struggles, overcome them and can be victorious. We do it all, no matter what our station in life. We love our creator and continue to strive for spiritual freedom which is the only way for us to achieve peace within and for our communities.

There are diverse types of diasporas (taken from or fleeing from their homeland) that women have experienced, and they are survivors. I salute all of them with courage and love. Thank you. Because of them we are here today!

This collection is a small gesture of thanks to them all, and especially all the women that we see.
